In a complete blood count, the amounts of red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets are measured, alongside the hemoglobin and hematocrit values. The red blood corpuscle indices − MCV, MCH, and MCHC − which describe the dimensions of red blood cells and their hemoglobin content, are reported, alongside the RDW, which measures the quantity of variation within the sizes of red blood cells.
